PHILADELPHIA — It was not quite the same path for Gage Larvadain and Shedeur Sanders to get to where they are now. But it was also very much the same in some regards.

Sanders wasn't necessarily on an easy path to the Browns , despite the notoriety given to him by being both a quarterback and the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Yet, when it came time for the 2025 NFL Draft, there was still a lengthy wait for his name to be called, all the way to overall pick No. 144 in the fifth round.

Larvadain's path certainly didn't start from a place of notoriety because of a famous surname. It only got tougher when he went through the entire draft without hearing his name get called, which led to him needing to sign a free-agent contract with the Browns.
