PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Firefighters from several departments rushed to a barn fire Monday night after explosion reports, authorities said.

According to Clackamas Fire, they were joined by units from Estacada, Hubbard, Colton, Canby and Molalla at a barn on South Ridge Road in Beavercreek after reports of an explosion.

When units arrived on the scene, officials said they found the massive barn engulfed in flames, prompting them to quickly hop into action to prevent it from spreading.

While the barn burned, authorities said that the flames did briefly jump to nearby grass, but the fire was quickly extinguished.

Due to the size of the blaze and potential for the building to collapse, crews fought the fire from the outside.
