PEORIA, Ill. – The largest disc golf tournament in the world officially gets underway on Thursday, but events surrounding the Ledgestone Open have already begun.
Ledgestone CEO Nate Heinold says players from all over the country and the world are here this week, nearly 2400 are signed up.
“We have people from eight different countries, 46 different states, and spectators from 35 states,” Heinold tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan”.
Heinold says he has volunteers that ride a motorcycle all the way from California just to be part of the event…to be up close and get a t-shirt.
Heinold says the Greater Peoria area is graced with some of the top disc golf courses anywhere.
