There’s little doubt Curtis Windom perpetrated an unjustifiable evil, killing three people, including his girlfriend and her mother, shooting them in merciless fashion on Feb. 7, 1992 in Winter Garden.

His motives seemed as vile as his actions. Authorities say he was mad that one of his victims owed him money and suspicious that another might rat him out for dealing drugs.

For his heinous actions, Windom was sentenced to death.

Yet today, just over two weeks before Windom is scheduled to die on Aug, 28, there’s an unusual group of people fighting to stop his execution — the children of his victims.

Even though they were furious and heartbroken by Windom’s actions decades ago, they have united to say: Enough violence and enough killing.
