The husband of the victim in a shocking 2024 Central Florida carjacking was sentenced to seven years in federal prison on Tuesday for his key role in laundering money as part of the drug trafficking scheme that ultimately claimed his wife’s life.
Prosecutors accused Miguel Aguasvivas-Lizardo of transporting illicit cash since 2021, hauling hundreds of thousands of dollars to Miami, often from the Orlando-area, and ultimately laundering more than $1 million of drug proceeds to purchase cryptocurrency. Unknown to him, however, he gave some of the money to a federal informant, according to a report filed in April after he pleaded guilty .
