Georgia football added transfers to its offense this offseason who are expected to play big roles in wide receivers Noah Thomas and Zachariah Branch.

Those two players had spring practices to settle into their new surroundings and dive into the playbook.

Illinois transfer running back Josh McCray , meanwhile, was added after spring practices and then was out with what was said to be an illness for much of preseason camp.

With classes starting Wednesday at UGA and the season opener against Marshall looming on Aug. 30, coach Kirby Smart was asked on Tuesday, Aug. 12, how far behind McCray is now.
