White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt held a briefing Tuesday ahead of President Trump's planned Friday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The briefing comes a day after Mr. Trump announced the federal government is taking control of the D.C. police department and he's deploying the National Guard to combat crime in the district.
