Frank Lampard has made nine changes to his Coventry City side to face Luton Town in the Carabao Cup as Ellis Simms makes his first appearance of the campaign.

The Sky Blues boss has handed summer signings Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Miguel Angel Brau their first competitive starts, positioned at right and left-back respectively, on a night when Jake Bidwell is deployed out of position at left centre-back in place of Liam Kitching, who is rested on the bench.

Bidwell, who takes the captain’s armband, will partner Bobby Thomas who is one of only two starters from Saturday’s Championship opener against Hull.

Ben Wilson starts in goal in place of first choice Carl Rushworth, with Brad Collins named as back-up on the bench.
