UTICA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- There will be at least two high-profile trials with multiple defendants happening in Oneida County Court the next several months, so far one for each of the deadly prison beatings.

The entire month of October is being reserved for the correction officers charged in relation to the deadly beating of inmate Robert Brooks at the Marcy Correctional Facility. So far, it seems that eight officers will have their cases heard by a jury.

January is the tentative month for the trial related to the deadly beating of 22-year-old Messiah Nantwi at the Mid-State Correctional Facility, just down the street from the Marcy facility. So far, nine officers have rejected plea offers and are preparing for trials.
