BEAUMONT, Texas — A Jefferson County jury has sentenced a Port Arthur man to 60 years in prison for the murder of a man during a 2020 home invasion .

The jury found Jovan Keveaun Neveaux, 25, of Port Arthur, guilty in the case on Wednesday afternoon following a brief trial.

Judge John Stevens ordered that his sentence run consecutively to the life sentence he is already serving.

Neveaux is currently serving a life sentence for a pair of aggravated robbery charges that stem from a home invasion robbery he committed in 2018, according to Texas Department of Criminal Justice records.

He had faced from five to 99 years or life in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
