When Tap 65 opened in Mid City in 2022, the restaurant was known for its 65 rotating beers, wines and whiskeys, along with its upscale Indian fusion menu.
Now, the restaurant will be changing hands.
Owners Rick and Needhi Patel have sold Tap 65 to Baton Rouge restaurateur Sam Darawsheh.
"It was bittersweet. We really wanted to make some more time for the fam. Kids are growing up, and the restaurant life is pretty demanding," Rick Patel said. "The deal just came along, and it was something we thought would be great at the time, so we pulled the trigger."
Tap 65 is currently closed until Aug. 15, while the new owners transition into the space.
In the meantime, the Patels are working on a new dining concept. Needhi is planning to launch private, curated dinners for small groups in the fa
