LEETOWN — The Livestock Skill-a-thon is back at the Jefferson County Fair this year starting Aug. 16 at 3 p.m at the show barn. Hosted by the Jefferson County 4-H Livestock Judging Club, this event challenges participates to identify livestock parts, breeds, feed and more, putting their knowledge to the test.
According to the rules, only Jefferson County Fair exhibitors and parents of exhibitors are allowed to participate. They will receive a score sheet and visit each station which will include questions about beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, meat goats, sheep, poultry and rabbits. Each participate will have a minute at each station to identify all the items on the table before moving on to the next station.
