FVRLibraries is one of the library systems around the state to receive Check Out Washington Discover Passes for free day parking at state parks and lands.

Those with library cards can check out the free Discover Passes for a week at a time. The passes allow free day-use parking on lands managed by Washington State Parks, as well as the state Department of Fish and Wildlife and Department of Natural Resources, according to a Tuesday news release from the parks department.

The state’s Parks and Recreation Commission, Parks Foundation and Employees Credit Union came together to provide 500 Discover Passes to 176 libraries in 15 library systems, according to the news release.

“Spending time outside does so much good for our physical and mental health,” State Parks Director Diana Dupuis said
