(FOX40.COM) — Tuesday, the Sutter County Sheriff's Office announced the launch of its new Blue Envelope Program.

The new program implements effective and inclusive communication tools to aid interactions between law enforcement and individuals who require additional accommodation, the sheriff's office said.

Community members diagnosed with conditions or disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder, dementia, anxiety, or other conditions may voluntarily self-implement the Blue Envelope, according to the Sutter County Sheriff's Office.

The Blue Envelope Program utilizes a blue envelope logo or a blue envelope that may be presented and used by community members when interacting with law enforcement or other community service personnel.
