For those of you who don't like the heat, we have bad news - the hot weather's here to stay.

Well, it will be in the late 20s/early 30s at least. Today (Tuesday, August 12) saw the mercury rise as high as 33C in parts of London. According to BBC Weather , things will stay pretty hot until at least next week.

By the end of next week (Sunday, August 24), temperatures should be back down to around the early 20s.

For now, though, and for the rest of this week, we're stuck with 28s, 29s and 30s.

Meanwhile, more than 130 firefighters had to be deployed today to tackle wildfires across London. London Fire Brigade (LFB) were first called to Centre Road at the Wanstead Flats just after 1.30pm, where four hectares of grassland continued to burn into the afternoon.
