An evacuation order has been issued for the Three Island Pond area of Paradise due to the Paddy’s Pond wildfire.

The order is for all properties adjacent to Three Island Pond, including Three Island Pond Road to the intersection of Buckingham Drive, Ellington Close, Angels Road, Hansen Place, Vanellen Place, Dawes Road, Balsamwood Road, Stokes Road and Shalloway Place.

People are being asked to leave immediately and travel North along Topsail Road.

A reception centre and emergency shelter has been established at Admiral’s Academy in Kelligrews.

All evacuees must register with the Canadian Red Cross either in person or by calling 1-800-863-863-6582.
