There’s a familiar last name on the Salt Lake Bees roster.

Cavan Biggio, the son of Baseball Hall of Fame member Craig Biggio, is now playing for the Bees, having joined the team on Aug. 6.

Biggio began the season with the Kansas City Royals, playing two months with the major league club before being sent down to Triple-A Omaha and then being released altogether two months after that.

The Los Angeles Angels then signed Biggio to a minor league contract and assigned him to Salt Lake, where he made his debut on Aug. 8 with a three-hit performance. View Comments

Since joining the Bees, the 30-year-old utility player has gotten five hits in eight at bats, good for a .625 average.
