The wildfire in Spaniard’s Bay has been brought under control.

That’s according to a post from Bay Roberts Fire Rescue on social media.

They say their two trucks have been sent back to the station now that the blaze is under control.

They credit the quick response from emergency crews in getting that done. In particular, they thank the provincial department of Forestry for their quick response and air support, which played a “major role” in the effort.

Meanwhile, crews are responding to a brush fire in Harbour Main.

The fire is in the area of Harbour Drive. The Harbour Main-Chapels Cove and Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department, Avondale Volunteer Fire Department, and the Holyrood fire Department are responding.

People are being asked to avoid the area at this time.
