SAXTON, Pa. (WTAJ) — Pennsylvania has been experiencing outages of the EBT system since Thursday, making it difficult for SNAP recipients to get their groceries.

The outage is impacting multiple states across the country and includes local stores in Central Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services said in a Facebook post that the problem is with the EBT vendor, Conduent, and its transaction processing system.

While DHS claims the system is "fully restored," local stores told WTAJ News they're still struggling with intermittent outages, forcing some shoppers to abandon their carts and leave the store empty handed and hungry.
