Tulane redshirt sophomore Jahiem Johnson picked up the nickname “Joker” in middle school and has kept it even though he is unsure of the origin behind it.
He is quite certain about something else, though. The joke will be on any opponent that underestimates him and his fellow untested cornerbacks at the Green Wave defense’s greenest position.
“We have a pretty good group,” he said. “Every day at practice we are always working and have the mindset that nobody can outwork us. We have some good receivers we cover every day, and they are preparing us for this upcoming season.”
