NORFOLK, Va. — The second day of the high-profile murder trial of Jalen Garces concluded with new witness testimony and evidence about the car investigators believe was involved in the murder of the son of a prominent anti-gun violence advocate in Hampton Roads.

Through license plate reader security camera footage, investigators placed a black Ford Mustang — the car Jalen Garces was allegedly driving the night of June 29, 2023 — as the only Mustang to enter the Ocean View area before the deadly shooting, and the only one to be seen leaving it minutes after.

Witnesses also reported seeing a black Ford Mustang at the scene of the deadly shooting of 33-year-old Ali Muhammad.
