Man dies in East York stabbing, cops say suspect in custody

A man has died after a stabbing in an East York apartment building, according to Toronto Police.

Police arrested a suspect after responding to the stabbing in the Woodbine Ave.-O’Connor Dr. area around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim, who later died in hospital, and the suspect were known to each other, said police, who refused to release ages or other information about the dead man or the person in custody.

“We’re gathering evidence,” said Duty-Insp. Brian Maslowski told reporters.

“I’m very limited in providing very specific information which I’d love to share with you but this is a very serious homicide investigation. And we need to gather the evidence and ensure the integrity of the investigation.”
