A TEXAS high school track star has died suddenly in his home.
Roy Hughes, a 17-year-old student at Lincoln High School, was found dead in his home on Friday.
Officers were called to the scene around noon local time and found Hughes unresponsive.
His mother, Virginia Mosely, told Fox F News that he went to track practice that morning and fell asleep when he got home.
Hughes never woke up after going to sleep.
Dallas Fire-Rescue reportedly pronounced him dead at the scene.
Hughes was a state champion track star at Lincoln High School.
He ran a 36.58-second time in the 300m hurdles to win the 4A state title.
Hughes was set to start his senior year of high school on Tuesday.
According to the Dallas Morning News, an autopsy will be performed to determine his cause of death.
