BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The development of the new $400 million LSU arena has found itself in the crosshairs of some Baton Rouge politicos.
Meanwhile, the Metro Council is set to introduce a sales tax incentive for the development of the project.
At a regular gathering of EBR Republicans, former Democrat Metro Councilman Darrell Glasper voiced his concerns about the project.
“Why would the people who are very successful at LSU go into business with this?” Glasper said. He was particularly frustrated with what he called a lack of transparency into the bidding process for a developer on the project.
A deal has not yet been signed between LSU and current finalist Oak View Group (OVG). OVG paid the Department of Justice $15 million in June for an alleged bid-rigging scheme to secure a co
