FARGO — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office will host a citizens academy.
The law enforcement agency said it’s accepting applications for the 12-week program. The free academy begins Sept. 16 and runs 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. once a week, according to a news release.
Classes will focus on a number of topics, including the bomb squad, corrections, defensive tactics, hostage negotiations, gangs, drone operations and investigations, the release said.
Residents who wish to participate must be a Cass County resident or work in the county, the release said. They also must be at least 18 years old and are subject to a background check, the release said.
