Kell will hope to get off on the right foot at home in the Corky Kell-Dave Hunter Classic on Wednesday against a South Paulding team seeking to rebound this season.
Breaking in the season with the second of two games being played at Kell's Stockyard -- Callaway and Prince Avenue Christian will kick off at 4:30 p.m. -- the Longhorns will have an opening-week test against a South Paulding team that fell a few close losses short of a playoff appearance last year.
“(South Paulding) is big. They return a lot of experience,” fourth-year Kell coach Bobby May said. “Their record wasn't great last year, but they lost a bunch of close games, which you could say the same about us.”
