The Santa Fe Indian Market is set to take over downtown Santa Fe this weekend, bringing thousands of visitors and more than 1,000 artists representing over 200 tribal nations from across the United States and Canada.
The event is organized by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts and is described by organizers as the world’s oldest and largest juried Native art market. It generates an estimated $160 million in revenue.
“We’re super excited,” SWAIA Executive Director Jamie Schulze told KOAT.
The main market days are Saturday and Sunday, and admission to the market is free. Additional ticketed events include a fashion show and a gala. This year’s theme is “Iconic Beginnings: Legacies in Motion.”
