On Saturday, Aug. 9, Aldergrove’s Veronica’s Gourmet Perogies was buzzing as the community rallied to support the annual Cops for Cancer fundraiser. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., every order of deep-fried blueberry perogies sold went directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, through Cops for Cancer.

The funds go towards paediatric cancer research and provides children affected by cancer with the opportunity to attend Camp Goodtimes.

Chris Allen, a civilian staff member with the Abbotsford Police, who used to be a boy scout as a child and a camp guide as a teenager said, “If we don't support those kids, they might never get to experience camp. And it was such a core memory for me as a kid.”
