There weren’t many negative things to say about Compass Academy’s season-opening victory.

The Lady Cougars got right down to business with an 3-0 victory against Pecos Tuesday at home.

Compass Academy (1-0) won by scores of 25-19, 25-10 and 25-9.

“It was a great start, first of all,” Compass Academy head coach Christina Bush said. “You never know how you’re going to come out in your home opener, especially after the two-a-day practices. For us, we stuck to our game plan. We adjusted from set to set. I think the girls did a really good solid job tonight.”

The first set was the only time both teams kept things close.

After that, Compass Academy was on cruise control for the rest of the way.

One thing that stood out for Bush was her team’s passing.
