What can I do about my neighbor’s overgrown yard?

You have a few options.

Alicia Rudolph lives next to an overgrown backyard in north Springfield. She says it’s more than just an eyesore.

“We can’t be out here because the mosquitoes are just insane,” she said.

Several months ago, she wrote her neighbor a letter saying ‘Before I call the city, we need to find a way to settle it.’

“I’m not trying to be a mean neighbor here, but what am I supposed to do?” asked Rudolph.

She ended up calling the city. Inspectors came out and issued a citation.

“I don’t want her to be in trouble. We live next to each other. She’s not a bad woman. She just is elderly and needs help,” said Rudolph.
