FORT DODGE, Iowa —
UnityPoint Health-Fort Dodge is expanding its surgical services with a $40 million construction project, aiming to provide state-of-the-art facilities and technology by March 2027.
The expansion will add 3,600 square feet, featuring larger operating rooms and advanced technology.
Leah Glasgo, president of UnityPoint Health-Fort Dodge, said, "Yeah, we are really excited."
She emphasized the expansion's role in recruiting and retaining physicians and updating technology.
"This is an opportunity for us to recruit and retain our physicians. We have an opportunity to update our technology," Glasgo said.
The hospital has also acquired a $1.8 million DaVinci robot operating system, which is already in use.
