FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — Investigators used a car monitoring system and debris from a crash to make an arrest in a deadly hit-and-run in Flagstaff on Tuesday.

Officers said they were called out near the intersection of North Fourth Street and East Route 66 just before 3 a.m. When they got there, they found the body of 55-year-old Christopher Charley in the vehicle debris following a crash.

Officials said the police department’s collision reconstruction team analyzed the crash wreckage and used automated license plate reader technology to identify a suspect and his car.

Officers said they tracked down 25-year-old Christopher Clarke and arrested him. He was booked into jail on charges including failure to stop at the scene of an injury collision and driving under the influence, pol
