CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cuyahoga County grand jury is expected within days to hear the case of an East Cleveland man accused of killing two family members and shooting two police officers.

Aaron Sharp, 24, faces aggravated murder and felonious assault charges. Here are some key points about his case from Lucas Daprile’s story on Monday.

Sharp’s first appearance in court

During his Monday appearance in East Cleveland Municipal Court, Judge William Dawson set Sharp’s bond at $3 million for all charges, denying his attorney’s request for a lower amount. During the court proceedings, Sharp was observed smiling, mumbling to himself, and nodding throughout, later stating “God loves you. That’s all” as he was escorted from the courtroom.
