The Cubs have released Iowa outfielder Darius Hill.

Hill had spent most of the past four seasons with the I-Cubs. Good luck to him.

The Iowa Cubs were punched by the Worcester Red Sox, 7-4. This was the first time the two franchises have played each other.

Chris Kachmar pitched the first five innings and gave up two runs on three hits. Two of those three hits were back-to-back solo home runs in the fourth inning. Kachmar walked two and struck out four.

Tyson Miller pitched the next 1.2 innings and took the loss. Miller allowed two runs on three hits. He struck out three and walked one.

Right fielder Owen Caissie hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to even the score at 2-2. It was Caissie’s 22nd home run this year. Caissie went 3 for 5 and scored twice.
