Due to climate change, the worst fire season is being experienced in France, Spain, Albania, Italy, Portugal and Greece, with temperatures exceeding 40 °C.
In Spain, nearly 1.000 firefighters have been deployed across the country, and the fires have forced the evacuation of thousands of residents and tourists.
Near Madrid, in Tres Cantos, more than 1.000 hectares of forest have already been burned. In other towns, such as Castilla y León, the fires have been contained, but dozens remain active.
Temperatures of up to 43 degrees Celsius have been recorded in southern France, raising alarms about the risk of fires in wine-growing regions. In addition, the French Meteorological Service has placed 12 departments on red alert, warning of the highest heat wave in the country. Another 41 depart
