Nominations are now closed for the Aug. 26 byelection in the Spruce Woods constituency, with advance voting beginning Saturday, says Elections Manitoba.

Three candidates are chasing a seat in the Manitoba legislature, which was left vacant by Progressive Conservative Grant Jackson, who resigned in March to run in the federal election.

Berthelette is a former real estate agent who recently worked as an executive assistant to cabinet minister Glen Simard.

Reid is a high school teacher in Brandon, and Robbins is a former nurse and longtime Tory volunteer.
