Three appointments to the Michigan Onion Committee were announced for terms beginning in August. Mark Nail of Marshall and Nate Brink of Grant were named as grower representatives, while James Young of Hastings was selected as an industry expert, according to a community announcement.

Nail, owner of Mark Nail Farms and a member of the Calhoun County Farm Bureau, was set to be reappointed as a grower-at-large. Brink, farm manager at Brink Muck Farms and a Lake Superior State University graduate, was expected to succeed Mitchell Schreur as a grower-at-large. Young, technical sales manager at American Takii Seed Company and an Oklahoma State University graduate, was scheduled for reappointment as an industry expert, according to the announcement.
