The NBA has made it clear that gambling violations won’t be tolerated. Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. knows that reality better than most, as his own brother, Jontay Porter, fell prey to it.
Speaking on the One Night Steiny podcast, Porter Jr. shared a provocative theory about how some players might try to take advantage of sports betting. He said that if a player wanted to help friends financially, they could intentionally underperform in a game.
