COLUMBUS, Ohio - Kathleen Poorman Dougherty has been named as the 21st president of Marietta College following a unanimous vote of support by the board of trustees.
Dougherty has served since Jan. 1 as interim president at Marietta College, a private, liberal arts institution that’s nearly 200 years old. She previously held the role of provost and dean of the faculty, where she oversaw academic programming. Her appointment comes as the college prepares to launch a new strategic plan later this month.
Marietta College has about 1,100 students . It was founded in 1835.
