Zach Creggor, director of the smashing horror success “Barbarian,” brings us yet another brutally unsettling, violently uncomfortable and viscerally-haunting threaded mystery about the disappearance of seventeen children. “Weapons” is a non-linear story that masterfully weaves between characters and plot lines that cohesively attaches to each other to create an utterly manic grand finale. The film gradually builds the small town mystery and then speed-blitz viewers in the last 30 minutes for a truly, undeniably, terrifying experience.

The entire cast is tremendous with Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich and Benedict Wong giving some of the best they’ve given — but it’s newcomer Cary Cristopher and Amy Madigan who rock the house.
