Council planners have given the green light for a troubled Kenilworth pub to be turned into offices.

Impenza Limited has been granted planning permission for the works at the Cottage Inn which will see it converted into five offices.

The Stoneleigh Road inn has had 12 different owners since 2009, closing multiple times in that period.

It has been shut for a year after its latest closure and has been on the market since .

Signing off on the application, a Warwick District Council report said: "While the loss of any community facility of this type is regrettable, particularly for patrons within the immediate locality, given that there are similar facilities accessible to the local community by means other than the car, the proposal is considered to comply [with planning policy].
