Prime Minister Mark Carney says the federal government is ready to provide any additional help needed to fight the wildfires burning in Newfoundland and Labrador.
In a post to social media, Carney says he has been speaking with Premier John Hogan about the escalating situation and the need for resources.
Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Coast Guard members have been in the province for several days now delivering critical supplies and providing firefighting support, with more resources on the way.
Carney says Ottawa is prepared to help out in providing any additional supports needed in the days to come.
