Duke football's Chandler Rivers and Landen King go way back.

All the way back to Beaumont, Texas, to be exact.

The duo have been teammates since they were kids growing up about 90 miles east of Houston in Beaumont. Now, they’re once again suiting up on the same team – just some 1,000-plus miles from home at Duke .

Even more so: the duo are set to wear the same number for the Blue Devils – No. 0.

"Me and Landen grew up together," Rivers said in an Aug. 12 availability. "I've been knowing him since I was like 4 or 5."

While the two did not attend the same high school – with Rivers attending Beaumont United and King Atascocita – they spent majority of their childhood on the same teams.
