Blue algae found at Wollaton Park

Two Nottingham parks have issued warnings to visitors after blue-green algae was found in both. The parks in Colwick and Wollaton have asked visitors to make sure that dogs keep out of the water, and people are asked to avoid swimming or paddling.

Wollaton Hall and Deer Park issued the warning this morning, Wednesday, August 13, stating that while the algae is a natural occurrence, it can be harmful to people and animals.

Colwick Country Park also issued a warning on Wednesday, stating that they have confirmed reports of the algae in West Lake.
