CINCINNATI (WXIX) - An early morning fire in Oakley sent a resident to the hospital with smoke inhalation and caused $90,000 in damage early Wednesday, according to Cincinnati firefighters.
The resident is expected to recover, but four families (a total of five adults) were displaced when flames broke out on Allendale Drive shortly after 2:30 a.m.
Crews found fire in the kitchen of a first-floor apartment at a two-story, four-family residential building.
All residents had already self-evacuated
The main body of fire was put out within six minutes of firefighters arriving, but it took more time to open walls and extinguish all the flames, which extended through an interior wall to the second floor and attic space.
One resident was evaluated on scene and taken to the University of Cinci
