After a long wait, Ryland Watters returned to the field with his teammates on the first day of Michigan high school football fall practices on Monday, Aug. 11.
The senior Rochester Adams quarterback missed mush of the Highlanders' run to the 2024 Division 1 state semifinals, his junior season cut short by a broken foot during the second half of the regular season.
"I'm really excited to be back out with my boys," Watters said Monday. "It's been a long time coming."
Adams coach Tony Patritto had to revise the offense midway through the Highlanders' 7-2 campaign. After losing Watters, the engine of Adams' option-oriented offense, the Highlanders slid starting slot receiver Nolan Farris to quarterback.
With Farris under center, Adams won its first two playoff games by 30 and 41 points,
