SCIO — “Serving, Shining, Scrambling, Scenery.” That is the theme for the 91st-annual Scio Summer Fest, scheduled for Aug. 21-24 in the Scio firehouse and former school parking lots.

The theme is to recognize the 65 years of service from the Scio Dining Fork Ruritan Club, the 40 years for the Scio Scramble 5K, the 40 years shining in the annual Show and Shine Car Show, and 25 years of the Conotton Creek Trail scenery, organizers noted.

Numerous events and entertainment will be offered. This year’s festival was moved back two weeks in order to “accommodate a new and better amusement ride company,” according to officials.

Because school will have begun at the start of the event, the venue will have a slightly different format.
