(KCCI) - Birthdays become more special each year.

Especially for a woman in Winterset, Iowa, who celebrated her 108th birthday.

Pauline Jones was born in Forest City in 1917 and has traveled the state for the past century.

She’s lived by herself in her Winterset home for 30 years.

While she can’t remember every one of her birthdays, Pauline has fond memories of those celebrations. And she is optimistic about those to come.

“And I’ve enjoyed them. I guess I’ve enjoyed every one. And uh, maybe I’ll have a few more,” she said.

Pauline busies herself with her fair share of hobbies, including painting, something she discovered at an older age.

She also enjoys baking sweets, especially cookies and apple pie.

As far as birthday gifts go, Pauline says she loves chocolate.
