A man killed on the Isle of Sheppey has been named following his death on a beach.
The fatal incident happened in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Kent island on Sunday, where the man was allegedly hit on the head with stones.
The emergency services rushed to the scene at about 7pm after reports of an ‘altercation’ involving a ‘small group’ of people in the Warden Bay Road area
They found the victim, Alexander Cashford, with serious injuries. The police said: ‘It is alleged the victim was assaulted following a disturbance involving a small group of people. Multiple injuries to the man’s body were reported.’
Eyewitnesses said people at the beach tried to give him CPR and stem the bleeding with tissues, according to the Sun.
He was declared dead at the scene.
