After just a few weeks absence Edinburgh tennis pro James MacKinlay is back in the winners enclosure.

James partnered Paisley’s Connor Thomson to victory in the M25 ITF doubles tournament in Roehampton after the pair’s nerves were tested in match tie-breaks to decide both the semi-final and final.

Last month James stepped up alongside Scott Duncan to win the Nottingham Challenger title saving 13 match points in an epic final.

This time things were a bit less tense, nevertheless a string of seeds had to be defeated along the way.

In the quarters the Scottish pair overcame second favourites Finn Bass and Ben Jones before progressing to eliminate a Dutch/French combination who were seeded fourth this time with a 10-8 tie-break decider.
